Virginia Lawyers Weekly has recognized John McKenna and Chris Taggi in its “Million-Dollar Settlements of 2014” special issue for their work on behalf of Micron Technology, Inc., the owner of a micro-chip facility in Manassas, VA. The matter involved a claim for property damage caused by a contractor who dropped a scaffolding deck board. The dropped board damaged a pipe carrying concentrated hydrochloric acid, causing a 4,000 gallon spill and a corrosive plume. Micron sued the contractor, Safway Services. Just weeks before trial, the case settled for $7.25 Million.
